Spoiled!

While we're staying here at Grandma's Reese gets a whole Queen size bed to herself! I'm not so sure she'll be happy to transition back to a twin in a few weeks. We may just be in trouble! She likes to sleep "spread eagle" like her dad!

When you get hot, you eat popsicles...and leave all your clothes on!

We were watching one of the morning news shows while I was making breakfast. Reese was sitting at the bar looking at a book. I didn't even know she was listening to the TV. Rapper Nelly was a guest, when the anchor asked him to sing some lyrics from a song. He started to sing, "It's getting hot in here...so take off all your clothes..." Reese looked up...

Reese: Mom, that man just say he so hot and he gonna take off his clothes. That so silly mom. You not posed to take off clothes cause you hot. He need to just have a popsicle! Cause you need to have popsicles when you get hot.

She's one smart cookie...or should I say "popsicle"!

Grandpa Love

Grandpa and Grandma have really "saved" me with this move. Not only have they provided us with a place to stay during our transition, they may very well save me from years of therapy bills; with regards to the traumatic damage I could could be doing to Reese by ripping her away from all her besties. She loves hanging out with them every day. She helps Grandpa with the yard work and Grandma around the house. They have been so good to play with her and entertain her. Today Grandpa taught her how to eat cherries and spit our her pit. Grandma taught her how to play checkers on the IPad, and let Reese raid her closet for dress-ups.

On this particular day, Reese helped Grandpa outside and was rewarded by a little "relax/snuggle" in the hammock...for all their hard work.

She misses her friends...

We went to see our new house today. I told Reese she could pick which bedroom she wanted. I was talking to a contractor and a few minutes later I hear her calling to me. When I walk back to the bedrooms I find her standing in the middle of the master. She proudly proclaims..."I want this one!" Try again my love!

After she chose again...this time with some more detailed instruction...we were standing in her future room...

Me: Reese do you like this room.
Reese: No mom...it not right.
Me: What do you mean it's not right. What's wrong with it?
Reese: It not the right color mom.
Me: Well, we're going to paint it the exact same color as your room in Utah. And look at this big window, you can see outside! Look at all the pretty flowers and trees.
Reese: I still not like it mom.
Me: You don't like to see outside?
Reese: No mom...I not see all my friends!! My friends not live here! It's not fun here!

Reese when she came to get me up this morning...

Reese: Mom I hadad a dream that Lucy came to see me...and we played and played and played it was the mostes fun time ever!!

BFF

Someone is really missing her best friend today. All morning she's been talking about Rowan and how she can't wait to see her and tell her that she's going to be Rainbow Dash for Halloween. I hope these two are somehow able to keep in touch with letters and maybe some Skype??? They're just too cute together.

Friend Party #4

Reese has been talking about her 4th birthday party for months now...the guest list...the cake...the pinata...you name it. When I realized that we would no longer be in Utah for her birthday, I knew I should probably let her have one last party with all her Tanglewood BFF's! After all, she's never known life without them.

So we partied like it was the big "4"...a month early...and this little brown eyed girl was happy as can be.

Lucy and Reese knew exactly what piece they wanted..."one with all the colors".
